Film & Forum: De drie fases van Pinochet
Hierbij wil ik u uitnodigen voor het FORUM 1973-1988-2005, De Drie Fases van Pinochet op zo 11 september in Melkweg Cinema. Het programma begint om 19.00 uur met de vertoning van de documentaire Chili voor, tijdens en na 5 oktober van Frank Diamand. Om 20.00 uur begint het forum met medewerking van Jan de Kievid (redactielid La Chispa, voormalig coördinator van het Chili Komitee NL), Jan Joost Teunissen (journalist) en Frank Diamand (regisseur). Het programma wordt georganiseerd door Loreto Corbalan. De toegang is gratis.
11 september 1973: de staatsgreep van o.a. Pinochet op Salvador Allende.
1988: Chili kiest in een referendum tegen het aanblijven van Pinochet.
2005: Hoe nu verder; wat is de politieke situatie van Pinochet nu?
Chili voor, tijdens en na 5 oktober van Frank Diamand (1988, 49 min.)
Na 25 jaar dictatoriaal schrikbewind krijgen de Chilenen de kans zich via een referendum voor of tegen generaal Pinochet uit te spreken. In deze mooie, maar vooral ook zeer aangrijpende documentaire, komen zowel voor- als tegenstanders van het regime aan het woord. De ‘NO’-stemmers voelen zich zeker van de overwinning en vrezen tegelijkertijd geknoei met uitslagen en represailles van het leger. Bij de ‘Si’-stemmers heerst een ingehouden spanning. Frank Diamand kiest in zijn film duidelijk partij voor de oppositie, dit komt onder andere tot uiting in het kleurgebruik. De 4e en 5e oktober zijn in bruin en rood getinte zwart-wit opgenomen. De uitingen van vreugde op 6 oktober, de dag na het referendum, worden in kleur getoond. In het laatste deel van de film wisselen kleur en zwart-wit elkaar af: terwijl het volksfeest in volle gang is worden de nieuwste slachtoffers van het militair geweld alweer ten grave gedragen.

Increíble lo que pasa en el país sin nombre. Saqueos y desorden propios de otros países "subdesarrollados".
No sé si será el cambio climático, pero esto podría empeorar más.
